Zoran & Annie: Palos Verdes Engagement Photographer

engagement

Many many years ago, before I owned a DSLR I thought that it would be fun to have a photoshoot in my backyard. I used my fence to build a newspaper wall [aka I covered my fence and the ground in newspaper for a backdrop] I thought it was the coolest thing ever and I invited all of myspace to come over and pose in front of it. Literally. Zoran and Annie were one of the handful of people to show up in my backyard for pictures and while the majority of the images aren’t very exciting there’s one picture of them from that day that still makes me laugh. They were holding hands and almost immediately after taking the photo Annie said, “You can’t post that anywhere! We aren’t allowed to hold hands yet!!” I love them.

Having been there from the beginning, they are no strangers to being on my blog. But I am so excited that this time I am showing off their engagement session. Zoran & Annie are getting married this August and I can.not.wait.

I love you both VERY much and I’m so excited to see you start your lives together.

This is my FAVORITE!!

We started the session in Palos Verdes wandering along hiking trails looking for good light. We found it. ;]

We made a pit stop on our way back down the hill at the Malaga Cove Plaza… SO glad we did!!!! I love this moment! ♥

It took a lot of brainstorming to come up with the location for their session, we thought about going far and we thought about staying close about doing something random and unexpected or keeping it more true to them. And then Annie had a brilliant idea.

We decided to end their engagement session on the roof of the building where Zoran and Annie first met. The church. I am SO in love with the way these came out. Annie you are brilliant! I love that we decided to use a location that is so near and dear to your hearts and that we used it in such a fun way. You are brilliant! ;]

Come on, are you kidding me with this light?? LOVE!!

I consulted numerous good friends, referred to books and even tried the skilled assistance of a partnership counselor.
