We’ve been planning for this trip for years. Years. From the moment we boarded the plane in Buffalo, New York and headed back home after our Canadian adventure in 2012 we started an official list, knowing that, one day, Jennie & Meredith would make their way back to our coast and we needed to be prepared to show them the favorite parts of our city.

Alexis and I decided [because we are supremely cruel] that every day would start as a surprise. So on Thursday morning we packaged up some moose cookies into a cute little box with their first daily itinerary and made our way to the airport… where I may or may not have taken pictures while driving.

After the airport we drove through In ‘n Out, because that’s always the first stop with every out-of-towner and we sat around the kitchen table talking, laughing and nail painting.

The day Jennie & Meredith flew in was also the day the Colby Fire started so there was smoke and ash hanging in the air, talk about a quintessential Los Angeles experience, the hills of Los Angeles were burning. So we decided to head to the beach to watch the sunset through the smoke.

Then we went back home, picked up the rest of the family and made our way to DinDinAGoGo for dinner. I can’t wait to share the rest of our adventures with you!
