I met with Patrick and Laura at the beginning of the year to talk all things wedding, and I think we laughed more than we talked. And looking through their engagement session photographs I had a smile on my face the entire time because their personalities and love for life and for each other shine through in their smiles– and they smile a lot!!

I am SO excited for their summer wedding at Loyola Marymount University but before I get too far ahead of myself, I am SO excited to share their Downtown Los Angeles engagement session with you! Laura and Patrick met while working together in Downtown LA so it seemed like the perfect place to document a part of their love story. We decided to meet at Angels Flight and wander through the city from there making stops at Angels Knoll Park, Grand Park, the Walt Disney Concert Hall and the less glamorous: parking lots, alleyways and possibly the entrance of Subway… because the light was just so good!

Patrick and Laura, I had so.much.fun with you two!! And I cannot wait to spend your wedding day with you! ♥

I LOVE the way they laugh!

We stopped at Angel’s Knoll Park where 500 Days of Summer was filmed, because the park is filled with cotton trees and there was cotton all over the grass and it totally looked like snow! So we were pretending. ;]

See, I told you the random parking lot light was TOTALLY worth it! ;]

So, I had never been to Grand Park before Laura & Patrick’s engagement session annnnd I’m basically in love with it! Random bright pink benches, a water fountain that you can run through AND pretty sunset light? I want to go there every day [as long as I don’t have to sit in LA traffic to get there. -___-]

As we were walking back to our cars we walked passed the Walt Disney Concert Hall [there are so many amazing spots within a few blocks when you’re in DTLA it’s incredible!] so of course we stopped for a few pictures. And when I say “stopped for a few” I mean we hiked up a bazillion stairs to get to the top to get this view of the city. ♥

Laura’s ring is GORGEOUS! Good job, Patrick! ;]
