September: Goals

personal

I’m one of those people who likes to get to everything painfully early. I always allot 30-45 minutes to get somewhere that’s 7 minutes away, I have to admit though, part of that is because I like to be early and part of that is because I REALLY like to have enough time to stop at Starbucks. ;] So here I am, sitting at gate 4B at LAX… an hour and a half early for my flight to San Francisco. There isn’t even a Southwest guy here yet, but Starbucks is in my future. ;]

Oh, and the topic of being at the airport, today is my first time flying with ALL of my camera equipment. We’re talking lots of lenses, lots of cameras, flashes, light stands, a bazillion batteries for all of those things… I’m kind of freaking out. Partially because my whole life is in a suitcase and partially because I haven’t quite figured out how I’m going to lift it into the overhead bin once I get on board my flight. That should be interesting. But, as I was getting ready to go through security just now a very nice boy asked if he could lift my [very heavy] bag onto the security conveyer belt for me. It made me smile, it’s not often that you run in to nice people like that… especially in LA… ESPECIALLY in an airport. He just made my whole day.

About a week ago I posted some goals for August, I want to keep up with that at the start of every month so even though it’s only been a week I’m going to revisit that list and add a few more things. I’d love it if you commented with some of your September goals, then we can help keep each other accountable!

Happy weekend, everyone! ♥

My September Goals:

  • 6 in 12*: Read 6 business books in 12 months. Finishing this month: Made to Stick
  • Research options for outsourcing. Done! I feel like I can breathe a little easier already.
  • Develop a weekly schedule. Stick to it. – after a slight mental break the other day I believe my personal assistant and I are going to come up with a schedule this weekend. I am in desperate need of one.
  • Order flash drives. I’ve decided on the style and design now I just need to place the order. It’s happening first thing Tuesday morning.
  • Email my amazing designer, Joanna. Decisions have been made, now I just need to act on them!
  • Make a point to work outside of home twice this month. I need a change of scenery.
  • Stick with my schedule at the gym. But if I have to miss a class commit to at least 5 classes per week. There is a lot of inconsistency in my life lately and taking classes at the gym is keeping me sane, skipping my classes last night so I could pack kind of bummed me out.

*I was going to do 12 in 12, but after a comment from a friend last month, 6 in 12 seems a LOT more reasonable, so I can have time to apply what I’ve read.
