My love for the sun is no secret. I just can’t help myself, I love to watch the way light frames objects and the way it breaks through trees… I just love it.
Several months ago I was driving home watching the sun set [and nearly getting in a car accident... you know, the usual] when I noticed a spot I knew would be perfect for a shoot location. It’s also no secret that I adore fields… and let me tell you, finding something that looks anything like a field in the suburbs of Los Angeles is like a miracle. So I did what any fairly normal photographer would do, I immediately booked my next session there. Long story short, it’s been months and I just couldn’t get this location out of my head. I had the whole session imagined in my head but none of my clients were going for it.
Enter Sarah.![]()
I have known Sarah for literally 20 years, we grew up in church together, we were in youth group together, when she finished 2 years in Master’s Commission I road tripped across country to help move her back home, we go way back. Now she is the worship leader at my church and she was desperately in need of some new headshots for the church website.
So last week, Sarah, my “field”, and gorgeous sunset lighting met my camera. I’m so excited to share these, because I’m biased and I love Sarah and because they turned out exactly how I hoped they would. I love when that happens.
Enjoy!

Sarah spent a year of Master’s Commission in Texas so she was excited for these last few, because with her big curly hair and background they kind of have a Texas feel. ;]
